About Carbonhalo

Built to close the Assurance Gap.

AASB S2 demands audit-ready climate disclosure. Auditor independence can limit how assurance firms help you prepare it. Carbonhalo bridges the gap with trusted, evidence-backed disclosures ready for assurance.

Independent by design

Designed to work with your auditor.

Carbonhalo prepares your AASB S2 climate reporting with the assurance process in mind from the start, giving your assurance provider clear, traceable supporting evidence to review. The roles are clear, separate and designed to work together.

Valued by clients

What working with us is like.

Auditors value the documentation. Clients value the partnership: advice tailored to the business, people who are easy to work with, and reporting obligations met with confidence.

What you told us

You need to get this done as easily, affordably and confidently as possible.

We spent months talking to CFOs and finance teams facing their first mandatory climate report. The message was consistent: you don’t need another system to manage, another team to build or a long consulting engagement to navigate.

You need a practical, cost-effective way to get your AASB S2 disclosure done properly, with the right evidence behind it and minimal impact on your team.

So that’s what we built.

What you don’t need

What Carbonhalo provides

Another person to hire

A fully done-for-you service. We are your specialist team when the work needs to get done.

Another system to implement

Technology that supports the process without creating another IT project.

Months of learning & figuring it out

A practical process that gets your disclosures done properly, on time, first time. Compliance, not a conversion story.

An open-ended consulting bill

An affordable fixed price model, no surprises! Know what it costs from the start.

Who is behind it

Three directors. A lifetime of experience.

Carbonhalo is led by directors who have run large ASX 200 companies, consulted to some of Australia’s biggest businesses, and founded technology companies.

Ben Daley

Ben Daley

Director

Ben co-founded Carbonhalo after a career running operations at scale as Chief Operating Officer of Tassal, Australia’s largest salmon producer. He brings the strategic lens from a board perspective and works directly with client boards and audit teams on the governance and risk-management of climate disclosures.

Richie Mulder

Richie Mulder

Director

Richie co-founded Carbonhalo and sits on the board of Siecap, a supply chain and project management consulting business. As a qualified carbon accountant he built Carbonhalo’s product & technology and works with the audit profession on structuring raw operational and financial data into mapped, auditable evidence.

Ian Warner

Director

Ian founded and built ISW, an IBM Platinum Partner, delivering enterprise technology and data platforms to large Australian organisations. That background sits behind how Carbonhalo handles client data at scale.

A team built around the work

Behind every Carbonhalo engagement is a multidisciplinary team of carbon accountants, data analysts, management consultants and technology specialists, supported by technology that helps us process, check and manage the work at scale.

Different expertise, working together through one process, so you get the capability of a much larger function without having to build one.

Who we work with

Built with the firms that ultimately assure your reporting.

Carbonhalo works closely with leading Big 4 and mid-tier accounting and assurance firms to make sure our reporting, evidence and workpapers are practical to review and ready for independent assurance.

We understand what assurance teams need to see: clear data, traceable calculations, documented assumptions and a defensible audit trail; and we build that into the process from the start.

The result: reporting that is easier for your assurance provider to understand, test and rely on.

Capacity

We have capacity to support businesses preparing for upcoming legislative reporting requirements; however, organisations that plan early will be best positioned to secure their preferred delivery window and achieve a considered, high-quality outcome. As reporting deadlines approach, demand for specialist support increases and provider availability becomes more limited.
